Healthy Woman |
Healthy Woman is a women's membership program sponsored by Alamance Regional Medical Center. Monthly lunch programs provide information on a variety of health topics. Lunch events are the second Tuesday of each month from noon until 1 p.m. in the Grand Oaks Center on the Alamance Regional campus. There is a $5 registration fee. Boot Camp for New Dads
First-time dads are encouraged to take part in this unique and innovative program that helps new fathers become confidently engaged with their infants and support their mates as they transition into their roles as new parents. Topics include safety issues, relationship with mom, feeding and changing a baby, pets in the house, crying and finances. This free class is taught to fathers by fathers.

Infant Massage
Learn specific massage strokes that can foster an emotional bond and communication between you and your baby. This class is taught by a certified infant massage instructor. The cost is $45.

Baby Sign Language
Babies can use simple hand signals to communicate wants and needs before they are able to talk. Participants will learn and practice beginning signs. This class is for parents of babies 0-18 months. The cost is $45. Call (336) 538-7550 for dates and more information.
Childbirth Preparation
This free five-week course is taught by certified childbirth educators. Expectant parents are encouraged to take this class in their third trimester, completing it by their 35th to 36th week.

Childbirth Preparation Refresher
Expectant couples who have been through the labor
and delivery process before or who have previously
completed prepared childbirth classes can take a
Prepared Childbirth Refresher course. There are two
sessions in this course.

BirthPlace Tours
Tours of the BirthPlace are conducted during the
third class of Childbirth Preparation, the Weekend
Childbirth Blitz, and during the Big Brother/Big Sister

Preparing Big Brother and Sister
This one-session course prepares children and their
parents for the arrival of the new baby. This course is
recommended for siblings three years of age or older.

Infant CPR and Child Safety

Breastfeeding Basics and More
This two-session class is for parents interested in
learning more about preparation for feeding babies

The Freshstart program is designed to help adults become non-smokers. The class offers techniques to help deal with cravings and education concerning nicotine replacement products. Medical Nutrition Therapy
Alamance Regional Lifestyle Center has registered
dietitians who can provide recommendations to
lower risk factors such as hypertension, obesity and

FREE: Needle-free HIV Testing
Alamance Cares is offering free HIV testing every
Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at its Elizabeth Drive
Clinic in Burlington. No appointments are needed

Support Groups |
Kids Can!
Kids Can! is a program for children ages 6 to 18
who have a family member with cancer. Children,
teens and parents meet in separate groups to share
questions and engage in fun activities. All children are
welcome regardless of where their family member is
receiving treatment.

Cancer Family Support Group
A support group for friends and family of cancer
patients is offered the fourth Tuesday of each
month at 6:30 p.m. at the Grand Oaks Center on
the Alamance Regional Campus. This group is
coordinated by the Wings to Recovery Program at
the Alamance Regional Cancer Center and is open to
anyone who serves as a support person for a cancer

Wings to Recovery for Cancer Patients

Breast Cancer Support Group
Newly diagnosed breast cancer patients, those currently undergoing treatment and long-term survivors are invited to attend. This group includes light snacks, special speakers, encouragement, support and friendship.
