Cuppa Joe to Protect Your Liver?

Drinking coffee or tea may help reduce the risk of chronic liver disease in certain people. Those who may benefit from the caffeinated beverages include people who drink too much alcohol, are overweight, have diabetes or have high iron levels in their blood. A study by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases found that those people – who are otherwise at higher risk for liver diseases – cut their risk by more than half if they drank more than two cups of coffee or tea a day. Enjoyed in moderation, coffee offers other health benefits as well.
