Third Annual Breast
Cancer Shoot Out
Golf outings, family walks and raffles may be the traditional
fundraising methods, but what about trapshooting? Beloit
Memorial Hospital is proud to be the recipient of funds
raised from the third annual Breast Cancer Shoot Out. The friends
and family of Shirley Hood started the Shoot Out in 2004 to
help prevent and fight the cancer that took Shirley’s life. The
day focuses on the trapshooting event, but includes food, a
merchandise sale, raffles, a ribbon ceremony and educational
opportunities.
The goal is to make sure there are funds available for those who
need a mammogram. Shirley’s friends and family would like the
funds to stay in our area to help women who need diagnostic and
financial assistance. The trapshooting event took place on
Saturday, Oct. 7, at the Izaak Walton Conservation Club in Beloit
and is Wisconsin’s second largest breast cancer fundraising event.
