Message from the President
New NorthPointe Health and
Wellness Center Closer to Completion
Groundbreaking for NorthPointe, northern Illinois'
new health and wellness campus, took place on
May 17. Since that time, the 122-acre building
site has been very active, with NorthPointe Terrace, the
24-apartment assisted living facility, scheduled to be finished
this December.
As we move forward with the project, I wanted to answer
some common questions about the construction and
services scheduled to be part of the expansive health and
wellness campus, located near the corner of Willowbrook
and Rockton Roads (near I-90) in Roscoe.
What is the focus of NorthPointe?
|
| |
NorthPointe's Fitness and Aquatic Center will feature a seven-lane, 25-yard-long fitness lap pool. |
Residents of this area currently need to go out of town for
most of their healthcare needs. This is a growing area that
expressed a desire for services closer to home. People don't
want to drive home from work, find out their 8-year-old
daughter has a high fever, and then have to drive another
30 minutes to see a doctor. NorthPointe will focus on
physician care, after-hours care, diagnostics, therapies
and wellness on a beautiful campus of rolling woods that
provides a natural healing environment for all ages.
What services will be offered?
NorthPointe will offer immediate care, primary and
secondary care, digital radiology, a new CT/MRI, a sleep
lab and rehabilitation services at the 151,000-square-foot
campus. We will also focus on helping individuals develop
a healthy lifestyle with exercise, education and complementary
medicine services such as massage.
Can I get my primary care needs filled here?
 |
| |
Natural stone and wood decor will greet visitors in NorthPointe's main lobby. |
Yes! NorthPointe will have pediatrics, OB and other adult
primary care provided by Beloit Clinic physicians, so your routine
check-ups and well-child care can be handled in one stop.
What about medical care in an emergency?
We will have board-certified emergency physicians
available seven days a week with extended hours, so most of
your emergencies can be handled quickly and close to home.
When can residents expect these services to be available?
For the most part, the medical and wellness services will
be open for patients late in 2007. However, NorthPointe
Terrace, our assisted living facility, will open soon. We hope
to have residents moving in around the holidays with a
grand opening in January 2007.
Will there be a membership fee for the Fitness and
Aquatic Center?
Yes, the Fitness and Aquatic Center
will focus on adults who have a
goal to maintain and improve
their health. The Fitness
Center will have exercise
classes, bicycle spinning
classes, an indoor
walking/running
track, weight and
resistance training
equipment, and
personal trainers
to help you reach your goals. The Aquatic Center will include
a seven-lane (25 yards in length) lap pool and a large warmwater
pool for exercise and therapies.
Is the assisted living center accepting reservations?
Yes, some of the 24 apartments are already rented.
Prospective residents may visit Riverside Terrace in Beloit
to see how a similar facility looks. People really do enjoy
the private apartments with the bonus of assistance when
they need it – help with medications, bathing, dining,
housekeeping, therapies and other daily needs is included.
Many older adults need a little assistance, but otherwise
are very healthy and independent. The facility has quite
a selection of activities including computers, libraries, a
beauty salon, game rooms and themed events.
Sincerely,
Gregory K. Britton
