New HealthEast Clinic on the verge of opening 
HealthEast is opening a new clinic in the Hugo area in less than a month. HealthEast Hugo Clinic, located at the corner of Everton Avenue and Frenchman Road, east of highway 35E, plans to open December 18. The new clinic is a family clinic serving children and adults. Dr. Joseph Moriarity and Dr. Amy Medley are both family doctors who have most recently practiced at the HealthEast Vadnais Heights Clinic. Dr. Moriarity states "I am excited about the opportunity to help establish the Hugo Clinic, not only to provide the best care I can to my patients, but also to help improve the health of the community as a whole. I am a family physician with a public health background. I plan on providing the full spectrum of care from prenatal care and obstetrics to caring for all ages, ranging from children and adolescents up to adults (including geriatrics). I love the concept of caring for all members of the family." He continued "Since about 15% of my patients come from the area it will be a natural transition. We will take what we have learned at our Vadnais Heights Clinic, and hopefully establish a first-rate clinic in Hugo." In addition to the two doctors, there will be a staff of about six other professionals. As a full primary care facility, the clinic will feature onsite x-ray and complete lab services. The radiology unit will use computerized radiology (CR) that allows images to be taken electronically and sent online to a radiologist for review. Patients will no longer have to take their films to specialists in big manila folders. Watch for the HealthEast Hugo Clinic grand opening events which will take place shortly after the clinic opens.
