The newest addition to San Jacinto Methodist Hospital is our state-of-the-art Women's Center. This facility offers women a place to receive total breast health care. Not only can patients access the Center for routine mammography, but they can also receive treatments for breast abnormalities.

Patients with breast lumps, abnormal mammogram findings or other concerns can consult our team of experts. When suspicious abnormalities are identified, our staff is trained in minimally invasive procedures to ensure an accurate diagnosis with minimal scarring. For breast cancer patients, our physicians work closely together to offer patients the best multidisciplinary medical care available. We utilize advanced imaging equipment and pioneering techniques in breast surgery, reconstruction and restoration.

Providing a Full-Range of Treatments
Our chemotherapy infusion area offers access to clinical trials and hormone chemo-prevention. Radiation therapy services include: conventional treatment with photons and electrons, 3-D conformal radiation therapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), which are targeted treatments designed to maximize dose to the tumor while minimizing exposure of normal tissues. Radiation therapy with breast-conserving surgery offers women with early-stage breast cancer an alternative to a mastectomy with the same rates of disease control and survival.

In addition to a dedicated team of physicians, our services offer comprehensive support. The following support services available to our patients are offered in cooperation with the American Cancer Society; Dialogue Support Group, Reach to Recovery, Road to Recovery, Look Good … Feel Better, a Cancer Support Group, wigs/hats/turbans, post-mastectomy bras/temporary prostheses, bra fittings, physical therapy and a lymphedema management program.

An American Cancer Society (ACS) resource library is available for patients across from the hospital's Outpatient Treatment Unit. We have a wealth of information that includes printed literature, cassettes, videos and DVDs. We have an on-site ACS staff person who visits once a week to provide information to newly diagnosed cancer patients. San Jacinto Methodist Hospital's Cancer Program is approved by the Commission on Cancer.
