Outpatient Rehabilitation – New Services Now Available
Help for Healing Injuries and Managing
Chronic Conditions
Methodist Sugar Land Hospital is growing yet again. Following the October opening of its new patient care pavilion and $300 million expansion, Methodist Sugar Land Hospital continues to bring new services to the residents of Fort Bend County. Methodist Sugar Land Hospital is now providing outpatient therapy services for physical, occupational and aquatic therapy. Patients can receive ongoing care provided by licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists and aquatic therapists — all close to home — and by Methodist's world-renowned, values-based medical care and personal, hands-on service. The therapy services are conveniently located in the Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas building at 1201 Brooks St. in Sugar Land.
Rehabilitation Services professionals are highly qualified and receive at least 30 hours of continuing education every two years. All staff members stay current with new rehabilitation techniques to better serve the Fort Bend community with the latest therapy options. In addition, each therapist has advanced training and has passed a licensure exam.

For patients at the new Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas clinic, individualized physical therapy and rehabilitation services are key components of their overall care. The goal of the physical, occupational and aquatic therapists located at Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas is to restore functional mobility and improve the overall quality of life through specially designed and managed exercise and strengthening programs.
Services available include:
- Physical therapy and rehabilitation activities for orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions of the upper and lower extremities as well as the spine.
- Occupational therapy, focusing on the hands, wrists, elbows and upper extremities. We treat acute traumatic injuries such as fractures and lacerations with nerve damage, as well as repetitive type conditions such as carpal tunnel or tennis elbow.
- Aquatic therapy is an alternative form of rehabilitation that utilizes a low-impact environment for exercise. Patients gain strength, flexibility, endurance and mobility in a comfortable and pain-free environment. The properties of water, including elevated therapeutic temperatures, hydrostatic pressure and buoyancy, allow for successful rehabilitation. The pool is equipped with a chair-lift for those requiring increased assistance for safe entry and exiting from the pool.
