Lowell Stanton
Named Best CFO of the Year

Lowell Stanton, chief financial officer and vice president of Methodist Sugar Land Hospital, has been named by the Houston Business Journal as the Best CFO of the Year at a large, nonprofit company.

He was one of six Houston-area CFOs honored at a luncheon on May 18, the final day of the magazine's "Celebrate! Enterprise" festival.

Stanton is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Healthcare Financial Management Association. He currently serves as treasurer of the American Cancer Society League of Fort Bend County. He has been in The Methodist Hospital System since 1998.

Stanton has bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration with a concentration in finance from Texas A&M University.

"Lowell Stanton has been an important member of the senior leadership team at Methodist Sugar Land Hospital for six years. He has done an excellent job providing financial and operational support for the organization's strategic initiatives," says Chris Siebenaler, interim CEO of Methodist Sugar Land Hospital. "Lowell is a values-driven leader, understanding that high-quality patient care and exemplary service provide a solid foundation for strong financial results."

Methodist Sugar Land Hospital is a 54-bed hospital currently undergoing an expansion that will increase its beds to 236. The initial phase of expansion is already complete with the addition of two cardiac catheterization labs. The hospital also will expand existing services including surgery, critical care, labor and delivery, emergency department, lab and imaging. The expansion project is expected to be complete in the summer of 2008.
