The United States Department of Defense (DOD) has awarded a two-year $2 million peer-reviewed grant to support the research programs of the North American Clinical Trials Network (NACTN) for Treatment of Spinal Cord Injury.

Methodist Neurological Institute to Host Inaugural Skull Base Surgery Course for Residents and Fellows

The Methodist Neurological Institute will host a skull base surgery course designed for senior level neurosurgery residents and skull base fellows on November 23-24. The course topic for 2013 is "Endoscopic and Microsurgical Approaches to the Clivus."

Faculty Spotlight – Richard K. Simpson, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Richard K. Simpson received his M.D. and Ph.D. from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina in December 1982. After completing his general surgery internship and neurosurgery residency training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas in 1989, Dr. Simpson joined the faculty of the Department of Neurosurgery at Baylor and rose to the rank of full professor by 2002.
