Center for Orthopaedic Surgery Expands to Northwest Houston

The Center for Orthopaedic Surgery and the Center for Sports Medicine provide access to specialized care.

The nationally recognized Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery has expanded to Northwest Houston with the addition of four expert orthopedic surgeons at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.

The center provides comprehensive care for the diagnosis and surgical/nonsurgical treatment of musculoskeletal conditions for all ages. "We see a mix of patients with acute sports injuries, as well as injuries and conditions caused by overuse, misuse or everyday wear-and-tear," says Korsh Jafarnia, MD, Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery at Willowbrook and Chief of Staff, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.

Convenient Orthopedic Care
Every aspect of care is coordinated within one facility, from diagnostic testing and MRIs to surgery, therapy and follow-up care. "Having access to multiple experts in orthopedics and sports medicine – all under one roof – is a great benefit for the patients in this area," Dr. Jafarnia says. "Patients can trust they are getting specialized care and the best treatments available for their specific condition."

The center offers a complete range of surgical procedures, including:

  • ACL reconstruction
  • Rotator cuff repair
  • Total joint replacement for the hips, knees, elbows and shoulders
  • Fracture surgeries
  • Nerve repair
  • Tendon repair
  • Arthritis surgery

Nonsurgical treatments include:

  • Arthritis care for rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis
  • Nonoperative management of sports injuries and tendonitis
  • Fracture care

The Center for Orthopaedic Surgery and the Center for Sports Medicine provide access to specialized care in the following areas:

  • Knee or joint problems
  • Foot or ankle injuries
  • Hand, wrist or arm injuries
  • Shoulder pain or knee problems
  • Concussion and other acute sports injuries

Patients in Northwest Houston benefit by having specialists available 24/7 providing quality, comprehensive care for all types of injuries.

"We have physicians in our group who are fellowship-trained in our respective areas, meaning we go a step beyond general orthopedics to provide highly specialized care," Dr. Jafarnia states. "Patients don't have to travel downtown to get this level of care. They can see a specialist and get the tests and treatments they need right here in the community."
