Family-Centered Care
Putting Your Family First

For the second year in a row, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital has been recognized for maternity care excellence, ranking in the top 10% of hospitals in the nation.

Meeting your family's health care needs has always been a priority at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. In order to provide consolidated, efficient care for you and your family, we are combining our Women's and Children's Services into the newly expanded Family-Centered Care, conveniently located in the South Pavilion of our hospital campus.

The South Pavilion houses a new comprehensive Breast Center, labor and delivery services, neonatal intensive care services in cooperation with Texas Children's Hospital, and other services focused on women and pediatrics. Exciting changes in progress include a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, a high-risk obstetrics program and a short-stay pediatric observation unit.

Leading the Way
Jodie M. Turner, RN, MSN, MHA, Director of Family-Centered Care, identifies key areas where Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is leading the way in our community to provide innovative, all-inclusive Family-Centered Care close to home.

From normal to high-risk pregnancies. The major goal of prenatal care is to ensure a healthy baby and a healthy mother. Our high-risk antepartum unit is a place where women experiencing complications with their pregnancies can receive care prior to delivery.

  • Expecting a baby? We're ready for the unexpected. Our labor and delivery unit is prepared to handle any birth. Our 24-bed postpartum suites are private rooms that allow mom and baby to get to know one another. Our Level II 10-bed neonatal intensive care unit is located right next to labor and delivery if a baby requires further observation, medications or treatments.

  • Little ones needing specialized care. For parents, caring for a sick or tiny baby can be frightening. Physicians on staff with Texas Children's Hospital are on-site at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital and involved in the care of your baby. And our partnership with Texas Children's Hospital allows emergency transfers of newborns when necessary. Should a transfer occur, a state-of-the-art service called "Family Vision" allows you and your family to virtually visit your baby while he/she is at Texas Children's Hospital using a special television monitor.

  • Pediatric services. As children develop and grow, medical emergencies may arise. We offer a full range of pediatric services, including inpatient care, pediatric observation and experienced health care providers for children of all ages. Our staff includes obstetricians, anesthesi-ologists, neonatologists, pediatricians, nurses and support staff.

  • Women's health needs beyond childbearing. In addition to excellence in gynecology, obstetrics and breast care, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital offers general wellness, medical and surgical programs tailored specifically to women through all stages of their lives. All of these services can be found in our South Pavilion.
