Dec. 18, 2010, marked the 10-year anniversary of Methodist Willowbrook Hospital.
"Since opening our doors in 2000, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital has continually grown to serve the health care needs of Northwest Houston," says Beryl Ramsey, CEO, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. "We have evolved from a community hospital to a highly specialized tertiary care hospital offering advanced procedures and treatments performed by medical specialists at a state-of-the-art campus. And the best part? We are still located right in your community!"
Diagnostic and treatment technology changes quickly and advances occur every day. That's what is so exciting and promising about health care. "Staying ahead of those changes so that we continue to meet the medical needs of our community and the patients we serve is a key part of our mission," Ramsey adds.
Excellence in health care is built on a continuing commitment to tech-
nological advances and enhanced services. Specialty services offered on the Methodist Willowbrook campus include:

Delivering Compassionate Care
The culture at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is inclusive and respectful of the beliefs of all those who enter our doors. Central to our mission is the spiritual care that is provided to patients, family members and staff.
"The health care we provide is rooted in the belief that every person is a treasure and every life a sacred gift," says Mark Young, Director, Spiritual Care and Integration, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. "That belief lives in the commitment of our physicians, nurses and staff to provide the finest care with healing skill and compassion, coupled with respect for the sanctity and dignity of human life – all offered in a spiritual environment of caring at this faith-based hospital."
Muhammad Hanif, MD, Internal Medicine/
Pulmonary/Critical Care and Chief of Staff at Methodist Willowbrook, has been with the hospital since its opening in 2000. "The future of Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is very bright," says Dr. Hanif. "As families continue to move to Northwest Houston, the need for quality health care will continue to grow, too."
Historically Methodist Willowbrook fills its bed capacity as soon as more beds are made available. (See timeline below.) "Currently we can provide care for 251 hospitalized patients and have the capacity to grow to 360 beds within our new North Pavilion," Dr. Hanif says.
But perhaps the most important measure of our growth is patient satisfaction. "People appreciate our friendly, caring nursing staff and exceptional professional and support services," Dr. Hanif shares. "And they really like our food service!"
Methodist Willowbrook Hospital would like to express its appreciation and recognize its remarkable staff and physicians for 10 years of leading medicine. The hospital is proud to have served the Northwest Houston community over the past decade and looks forward to continuing to provide innovative, compassionate care close to home. Thank you for an incredible 10 years. Thank you for insisting on Methodist!
