Baby Wearing

Car Seats: is Your Baby Safe?
Learn basic child passenger safety information from the age of newborns up to 13 years. Including proper car seat installation techniques.

Celebrating your Inner Grandparent
Spend an evening discovering what birth is like today and ways you can support the expectant/new family in your role as Grandparent. Tips on long-distance grandparenting, memory-making scrapbooks, setting limits and more.

Child, Infant and Adult Heartsaver CPR
Learn to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR ) for the conscious, unconscious or choking infant, child or adult.
This one-day Heartsaver CPR course includes basic skill lessons on CPR and foreign body obstruction. The American Heart Association sponsors the class and does not receive any proceeds.
Doctors Hospital: July 25 AND Aug. 22, 1 to 3:30 p.m.;
Sept. 23, 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Riverside Health Center: July 18 OR Aug. 15 OR

Grandparents
Been there, done that, but things change with time! This two-hour session is a great refresher for grandparents, reviewing the latest information on caring for your grandchild, including SIDS awareness and infant CPR techniques.

Growing Together
A support group for parents of babies in Grant's Special Care Nursery. It can be stressful having a baby born with medical challenges and/or premature. Relax with other parents and share mutual concerns to support you and make an easier transition towards discharge.
Volunteers are available to oversee older siblings during group time.

Happiest Baby on the Block
Based on the work of Dr. Harvey Karp, both expectant and new parents will learn to soothe even the fussiest infant in minutes.
Parents of newborns (0 to 3 months) are encouraged to bring their baby. Great to take during third trimester too.

Infant Sign Language
Learn basic sign language to use with your baby. Babies are welcome and should be at least 6 months old or able to sit up (we cannot accommodate older siblings). Class is taught by an EBC Parent Educator with many years of sign language experience.
Wednesdays, Aug. 5 - 19, 1 to 2 p.m.
Women's Center at Riverside: $30


Mommy Chat
Bring your little one (up to one year of age) and learn about topics of interest to new moms. After a 10-15 minute discussion, there will be an open forum of questions and support.

Mommy and Me Fitness
Bring your baby and stroller with you to a one-hour small group fitness class and get back in shape with strength training, cardiovascular drills, nutritional tips, goal setting and positive reinforcement. Learn core movements you can do at home. Must be at least six weeks postpartum or have physician approval.

Destination Maternity: Four-week series, Mondays, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., $40


New Moms Group
New mothers and babies (from birth to 12 months) meet with one another and share information. An EBC parent consultant is available for questions.
Tuesdays, 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Parent Coaching
EBC Parent Coaches offer support and information (by phone appointment or onsite at the EBC) tailored to your individual needs. If you find yourself challenged by your child's crying or whining, toilet training, sibling issues, power struggles and limits, homework or other concerns, our experts will consult with you one-on-one to create workable solutions and reclaim the joy of parenting.

Positive Discipline
Raising children can test any parent's patience. Learn techniques to provide limits and positive discipline while building your child's self-esteem.
Wednesdays, July 14 - 28, 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Post Partum Pearls
Learn what to expect immediately after your baby is born and in the coming year, including physical and emotional aspects of the postpartum period, postpartum depression and joys and challenges of parenthood.

Toddler Zone Play Gym
A flexible playtime for children and parents in our enriched play space, set up for you and your one- to three-year-old.
Parents have access to an EBC Parent Consultant for questions. Drop in – no need to register.
Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
EBC/R: $6 per child or $50 for package of 10 classes* (pre-walking babies at no cost)


Transitions
As a girl becomes a woman, it's a special time. This program helps fourth, fifth and sixth grade girls and their mothers face puberty issues positively and with understanding.
Wednesday, Oct. 14, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
