Childbirth Education: Breathing and Comfort
This one-time, 3-hour class covers basic breathing, relaxation and contraction techniques to use in labor. Please first complete the “Childbirth Education: Birth with an Epidural” class or another childbirth class because this class does not cover anatomy and physiology of birth or medication options. Can be taken as a childbirth education refresher. Call for dates and times.

This class reviews anatomy and physiology of birth, medical options and procedures for childbirth, with an emphasis on labor and birth with an epidural. One- and two-day class options available. Call for dates and times.

Childbirth Education: Lamaze^® Series
Grady Family Birthplace is pleased to be the only Lamaze approved provider and the only hospital to offer an official Lamaze Childbirth Education Series in Ohio. Topics include the Lamaze Philosophy of Pregnancy, Birth, and Parenting; the physical and emotional aspects of late pregnancy and birth; comfort measures for pregnancy, labor, and birth; information on childbirth choices such as medications for pain; postpartum care for mom and baby; and newborn characteristics. Childbirth Refresher – Doctors
This three-hour class reviews pregnancy and the birth experience, including Caesarean birth; breathing, relaxation and massage techniques; and comfort measures. Designed for parents who have taken classes with a previous pregnancy. Call for dates and times.

Baby Care Basics
Learn the basics of baby care before your newborn’s arrival. Topics include growth and development, bathing, diapering, feeding and more. Partners are encouraged to attend. This class is appropriate for soon-to-be grandparents, too. Class should be taken two to four weeks prior to due date.

Comfort Measures during Labor
Designed to supplement the regular Childbirth Education Class or Refresher Class, you’ll learn massage techniques and comfort measures that can support you during your birth experience. It is also an additional resource for support persons.

Prepare for baby’s birth with a tour of labor and delivery, postpartum and nursery areas. Tours and parking are FREE.

Prenatal Fitness at Grant Health and Fitness Center NEW!
This six-week class for expectant mothers helps you maintain or increase cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength and flexibility, while decreasing common prenatal discomforts. Modifications will be made for all stages of pregnancy. You can continue with additional six-week sessions throughout your pregnancy.
