25th Anniversary
of St. Joseph Health System

The seeds of the St. Joseph Health System began in 1920 when the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange reopened the hospital in Eureka and named it St. Joseph Hospital. Although their original calling to the area was to provide a Catholic school, their mindset to always fill the need at hand led them to healthcare during the flu epidemic of 1918.

Community Benefit

Addressing the total health – body, mind and spirit – of each individual and family in the Victor Valley is key to establishing a healthy community. St. Mary Medical Center's mission is to help residents of all ages and social status receive the immunizations, screenings, resources and education needed to live healthy lives.

Childhood Obesity

The image of a happy, healthy child is one of the most satisfying sights in the world. They run, jump and swim with smiles and giggles punctuating every move. Sadly, this picture is not a reality for many children as they are faced with weight problems and the negative impact of childhood obesity.

St. Mary Wins ER Award

St. Mary Medical Center's Emergency Department earned the Emergency Department of the Year award from California Emergency Physicians (CEP) America, the nation's largest emergency physician partnership.

Foundation Grants Help Local Families
