Electronic Medical Records Serve Patients Better

As part of its commitment to outstanding service, Talbert Medical Group has recently launched an Electronic Medical Records system (EMR) in all of its health centers. The fully integrated system allows Talbert physicians at different offices, including specialists and after-hours urgent care physicians, to instantly access a patient's medical record.

The EMR helps Talbert serve patients better – examples include improving the check-in process, alerting the physician to potential drug interactions or allergies when prescribing, sending prescriptions electronically to the patient's pharmacy of choice, and providing the patient with a printed visit summary with follow-up instructions for easy reference later.

Talbert is currently working on launching TMG4ME, a secure web-based portal for patients to access their health information from a home computer. This module will allow people to check the status of referral requests and lab results, print out immunization records, schedule appointments, view visit summaries, and much more. Talbert anticipates going live with TMG4ME later this spring.
